Organic Basics has held my interest since the inception of Make Fashion Better. Their minimalist style, quality design, and their unrelenting pursuit of sustainable innovations distinguishes them from other undergarment brands.
Launched with a Kickstarter campaign in 2015, Organic Basics is a clothing company focused on men’s and women’s basics such as underwear, t-shirts and activewear. The brand was created by four Danish men who were tired of buying overpriced big-branded underwear. Organic Basics’ mission is to break free from the mainstream fashion industry by making products that are sustainable, comfortable, durable, and antibacterial. Their latest collection is made from mechanically recycled nylon that is seamlessly knitted for better comfort and durability and incorporates Polygiene® for odor control, which requires less washing and thus prolongs the life of the garment.
Quality
Along with being better for the environment, Organic Basics prides themselves on producing higher quality clothing which is designed to last. All of their pieces are made from high quality fabrics, are incredibly soft and durable, and have a great fit.
Price
Organic Basics only sells through their online shop, therefore their prices are reasonable for the quality and longevity you receive. It may seem easier to buy a few cheap pieces, wear them until they fall apart and then do it all over again, but that creates textile waste, water pollution and sends the market into overdrive with inflated demand. Organic Basics takes this long-view of fashion and encourages us to become more conscious consumers and to start thoughtfully adding select pieces that do not have to be replaced nearly as often. Buy a few things that will last and you’ll be as happy with them in ten years as you are the day you purchase them.
Packaging
The pieces come in either recycled cardboard boxes or paper bags, both of which can easily be recycled again.

Leggings are the true staple every gal needs in her wardrobe. We all know they’re perfect for workouts, but the right pair can also keep you comfy and stylish for everything from running errands to a cozy evening at home.
The first time I touched Organic Basics leggings I couldn’t believe how soft the material was! The leggings are not too thick, but also aren’t see-through or flimsy by any means. It’s much stretchier & more breathable than I expected, almost feels like a second skin. I wore these leggings on a hike, on a long flight and never once felt constricted or hot/sweaty. This is the pair I currently get the most use out of: It’s perfect for workouts, but I pretty much live in them on the weekends, too.
